Grocery Shopping Question

Posted by admin | April 17, 2008 | Posted under Grocery Shopping |

How often do you go grocery shoppingThis first in a series of questions of the day (Hopefully someone visits the site to respond!) regards grocery shopping.

  • How often do you grocery shopping?
  • How many stores do you go to so that you can complete your shopping?

For my family, the routine that we normally do is look at the ads for all the three major grocery stores in the area (King Soopers, Albertsons, and Safeway). If there are a number of good deals that we are interested in, we try to go there while out somewhere else. I will talk about this more in another article but with the gas prices as of late, we try to do multiple things when we are out.

When those stores do not have what we want, we buy smaller items at Wal-Mart because of price and then head to Sams for bigger things that we need. I personally hate buying regular priced items at a grocery store because compared to Wal-Mart, the price really are jacked up.

Nice blog! I stumbled across you today for the first time. :)

We have one grocery store in the immediate area… Giant Food Stores. The sale prices are fairly competative, so we shop there once a week.

Super Wal-Mart is coming in about 6 months. I’m a bit excited, because we might save money on the groceries, but sad to see our little community growing.

Thanks for the nice comments and visiting the site. It is definitely appreciated!

The town that the college I attended only had one option. The difference with your situation and the grocery store in the college town is that they really hiked their prices up. I wasn’t as concerned about money than (Just wasn’t spending a ton on groceries with the college making my food) but I could tell stuff was more expensive than it should be.

Walmart has some disadvantages, but the prices that they bring to the table are nearly unmatched. My wife hates the general concept of Walmart (She is a Target girl) but still goes because she agrees that the prices are better.
